The Cannon-Manning Vacuum Viscometer measures the viscosity of highly viscous materials according to ASTM D2171. Vacuum of 300 mm Hg is applied to small arm with timing bulbs; two bulbs are incorporated to extend viscosity range of viscometer.
Minimum sample volume is 6 mL. Minimum bath depth is 180 mm (7.1 in).
Viscometer is calibrated and is provided with a certificate of calibration and instruction sheet. See expanded uncertainty for more information.
Viscometer constant is the same at all temperatures. Approximate constant at 300 mm Hg vacuum is 0.002 poise/second for bulb B and 0.0006 poise/second for bulb C.
Viscosity range is 0.036–0.8 poise.
