The Zeitfuchs Cross-Arm Viscometer measures kinematic viscosity of transparent and opaque Newtonian liquids according to ASTM D445 and ISO 3104. It can also be used to measure kinematic viscosity of liquid (cutback) asphalts and road oils at 60 °C (140 °F) and asphalt cements at 135 °C (275 °F) according to ASTM D2170.
Filling and cleaning does not require removal from the constant temperature bath.
Minimum sample volume is 1–3 mL. Minimum bath depth is 230 mm (9 in).
Viscometer is calibrated at 40 °C and provided with a certificate of calibration and instruction sheet. See expanded uncertainty for more information.
Viscometer constant is the same at all temperatures. Approximate constant is 0.03 cSt/s. Viscosity range is 6–30 cSt (represents flow times of 200–1000 seconds).
Unity Factor Viscometer (constant within ± 0.2% of value listed above) is also available, see 9724-D56.
Viscometer comes with permanently attached rectangular metal holder which requires bath opening 25 x 48 mm (1 x 1.9 in).
For viscometer without holder, see 9723-S56.
For viscometer with permanently attached round metal holder, see 9723-W56.
